Very high levels of air pollution spreading across the UK should not be a cause for concern for Island residents.
That’s the message from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Dust from the Saharan Desert and winds have combined to create a potentially toxic storm.
People here have seen some evidence of it on the Island with numerous reports of sandy deposits left on cars.
Environmental health officer Christian Cowin says its presence doesn’t carry any health implications:
