The head of English at an Isle of Man secondary school appeared in court on Friday charged in connection with attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
James John Barefield was arrested in Kirk Michael on the 28th October.
He had to be taken to London for the hearing as currently this specific internet offence is not dealt with by the Island’s legislation.
No pleas were made at the court appearance..
The case has been adjourned until the 16th of December where the 31 year old will appear at Southwark Crown Court.
