Port St Mary Commissioners are welcoming a Tynwald decision this week which will keep the town's sub-post office open until at least April next year.
On Tuesday, members of the court voted to keep all the sub-post office branches currently open on Island as they are until the Chief Minister's communities report is considered in 2021.
Concerns had been raised about the future of the branch in the southern town following the retirement of the sub postmasters there.
The local authority says it looks forward to 'a constructive and positive dialogue' with the post office board to implement the decisions of the Communities Committee after July next year.
It's also thanking Rushen MHK, Juan Watterson, for putting forward the motion which gives them time to work for the best outcome of the community.
