A prisoner who sustained serious injuries when he was attacked with so-called "prison napalm" in 2019 has had his case against the government dismissed.
Paul Akinmurele sued the Department of Home Affairs following the attack by another inmate - the court heard there'd been bad blood between the two of them but Akinmurele had turned down a move to another wing.
Deemster Needham said there was no evidence prison staff had failed in their duty of care, adding staff couldn't have predicted the outburst of violence after mediation between the two prisoners seemed to calm the problem.
He dismissed the case.
