An inmate at the Isle of Man prison has appeared in court accused of a savage attack.
Stefan Proverbs appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from the Jurby facility.
The 40 year old denies one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at the jail on October 19 last year.
Mrs Hughes committed him to stand trial at a Court of General Gaol Delivery and remanded him in custody until a date to be fixed.
