Post Office corporatisation plans rejected

 

That's Michael MHK Alf Cannan - one of a number of politicians who questioned the motives of transferring the statutory office to a government run company. 

 

It was one of six recommendations drawn up by an independent consultant which were put to Tynwald yesterday.

 

The court voted in favour of the principle of corporatisation but the five other suggestions failed to carry - Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw says the move is anti-progressive:
