A man’s facing trial in the Court of General Gaol Delivery after a police raid on his home uncovered 16 cannabis plants and messages about drug-dealing.
William Paul Christian of Archallagan Terrace in Foxdale appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted supplying cannabis between December 2018 and September 2021, and cultivating the plants on August 19 last year.
However, he pleaded not guilty to supplying cocaine, possessing more than £23,000 in criminal cash and possessing cannabis with intent to supply it.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing officers raided the 42 year old’s home on August 19 last year, and found the plants growing in a bedroom along with more than £5,000 worth of cannabis.
The court heard on his mobile phone, police found Whatsapp and Facebook messages about dealing drugs.
Mr Brooks said the case was too serious to be heard in the summary courts and declined jurisdiction.
He bailed Christian in the sum of £500 to next appear on August 2.
