Police clampdown on winter fuel thefts

Last winter over £20,000 worth of fuel was stolen

The Police are reappealing for information following the theft of diesel and coal from the Balthane industrial Estate in Castletown earlier in the month.

The police are keen to avoid similar crime patterns from last years winter, where over £20,000 worth of oil was taken over the winter period.

In this case the goods were stolen over the weekend of 8th and 9th October.

If anyone has been offered oil at a lowered price, or know where drums of oil are being stored in unusual circumstances they're urged to contact Port Erin Police Station.

The same applies if someone has tried to sell you  a 25kg bag of coal.

The public are reminded to be security conscious when it comes to their own supply of fuel throughout the colder months.
