The government says it's bringing plans to introduce ultrafast fibre internet connections forward by a year.
Work has already started in around 14,000 homes but the government says it's now going to take four years to cover 99 per cent of the Island instead of five years.
The ambitious plan, part of a £100 million economic recovery scheme, was unveiled at an update from Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan MHK, yesterday.
It's hoped three-quarters of the Island will now get the faster connections within three years.
