Planning permission is being sought by the owners of the Palace Hotel to develop a terrace at the front of the building.
It would serve as an extension to the bar and lounge, which the developers say will also be refurbished.
The outdoor seating area would be accommodated by erecting a new wall with bi-fold doors, adding a glass wall around the outside and a new function space to the side.
It would let customers sit outside overlooking the bay, a facility the hotel doesn’t currently offer, and would ‘enhance’ the visitor experience.
The application is now pending consideration.
