A planning application has been submitted for a Sexual Assault Referral Centre on Island.
The facility will mean evidence can be gathered on a voluntary basis from the victims of crime and alleged sexual assaults, which can then be used to support any legal prosecution.
It comes as the Department of Home Affairs and Department of Health and Social Care concluded in 2017 that on Island services weren't adequate.
The application says the proposed unit represents a 'major milestone' in the delivery of care and support for both adult and child victims and associated family members on the Isle of Man.
