Pinewood deal dominates HOK questions

Government investment in the Pinewood Film Studios is set to dominate question time in the House of Keys today.

Government investment in the Pinewood Film Studios is set to dominate question time in the House of Keys today.

Of the 22 questions for oral answer, eight relate to the Pinewood deal.

Michael MHK Alf Cannan wants to know how the Island will benefit from five million shares and why the government didn’t buy 15 per cent of shares as it indicated it would in June this year.

Member for Middle Howard Quayle and South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft will also ask questions about the deal.

Also on the agenda today is a law which aims to clamp down on unmanned sunbed salons which will get its second reading.

The Sunbed Bill was introduced by East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell.

If it’s passed it will mean that the Island’s coin-operated sunbed studios will have to have a supervisor on site and people under the age of 18 won’t be able to use them.
