A petition against water fluoridation on Island has garnered 500 signatures since going live in November.
The petition came about following a proposal by Health and Social Care Minister Lawrie Hooper that the Public Health Directorate should prepare a research paper exploring water fluoridation.
His proposal received support from his fellow MHK's with 14 voting in favour, and 9 against.
Similar proposals had been blocked in both 1986 and 2008.
The man behind the petition, Iain Mack, also set up the website nofluorideinmanxwater.org which offers in-depth insights into the arguments against fluoridation, with scientific studies and testimonials from experts in the field.
