Get Online Week is a nationwide campaign attempting to inform residents, who are not already plugged in, to the benefits both financially and socially.
Organisers say it's widely acknowledged that technology helps with accessing local information, makes it easier for people to stay in touch with friends and family and with their banking and personal affairs.
