The cycle lane on Peel Road is set to be replaced by a takeaway lane.
Due to the expected increase in traffic caused by the opening of the new KFC and Starbucks site, a designated takeaway lane for vehicles is to be introduced.
The traffic calming measures mean that cyclists will instead have to divert over the new Pulrose Bridge.
