A Peel man who drunkenly threw a chair at an 11-year old girl will be sentenced in August.
Ryan Lee Shepherd of Marine Parade appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted assaulting his girlfriend’s daughter and smashing a mobile phone at their Peel home on June 2.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court Shepherd was drunk on lager when he turned violent and abusive just before 10.30pm.
He taunted the youngster, saying nobody liked her and hurling the chair at her when she laughed because his trousers had fallen down.
When his girlfriend tried to ring police, he grabbed her iPhone and smashed it before she fled to seek refuge with neighbours.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t contact his alleged victim, and he’ll appear again for sentencing on August 1.
