Round the clock specialist treatment will now be available at Nobles Hospital for stroke patients.
Patients will now have access to specialist thrombolysis treatment, it's the first time the drug intervention will be offered at out-of-hours on the Island.
Four extra nurses have also been recruited to run the stroke teams 24-hour service.
This has been made possible thanks to the hospitals partnership with Royal Liverpool Hospital.
