One of the organisers of a new endurance triathlon event says the Isle of Man is a perfect location for it to take place.
The Department of Economic Development has granted a licence to an UK based event team to develop a long course triathlon.
It will be called the TT Triathlon and is scheduled to take place shortly after the TT Races on June 30th.
The course will take in a 2.4 mile open water swim, a 112 mile cycle and a 26.2 mile marathon with part of the route taking place on the Mountain Course.
Race director and course designer Richard Wallace says he hopes the event will appeal to endurance athletes from around the world:
