Onchan commissioners have put off introducing a new policy about social media posts from members.
At its meeting in late September, the board was due to consider a report from the local authority's chief executive.
But vice-chair Scott Wilson asked for the discussion to be deferred while he reviewed the document.
Commissioners voted to consider the report at a future meeting.
