The Department of Health and Social Care is 'seriously looking' at the problem of NHS staff being signed off with stress, depression or anxiety.
In Tynwald this week North Douglas MHK David Ashford asked the Health and Social Care Minister for the data on how many doctors and nurses have been signed off in the past year.
Kate Beecroft announced that out of the 131 doctors eight were signed off in 2015-16 and of the 523 nurses 68 were signed off for their mental health.
David Ashford wanted to know whether any further investigation into why this is happening would be undertaken:
