There won't be a new scoreboard at the Grandstand in time for next year's TT.
That's according to Enterprise Minister Lawrie Hooper, after being questioned in Tynwald this week.
He was asked by local MHK and former TT commentator Tim Glover if a new scoreboard will be on display for 2023 racing fortnight.
In response, Mr Hooper revealed given 'critical budget pressures', the cost of living and in light of the estimated seven figure cost of a new scoreboard - construction will remain on hold.
He added it should remain on hold until such a time when it can be funded appropriately - whether that be from public funds or a commercial opportunity.
It comes despite information on the official TT website, that a new scoreboard was being developed, with a permanent structure 'set to be erected ahead of the 2023 TT races.'
Instead, it's thought the set-up used for this year's TT - with digital screens - will be replicated once again.
The original scoreboard was last used during the Manx Grand Prix in 2019, after it was found to be 'irreparably damaged.'
