A new Shoprite store could be coming to Ballasalla if planning officials give approval.
IOM Enterprises Plc group is seeking approval in principle to convert a retail unit at the former Whitestone Car Showroom in the town.
The organisation says they've been approached informally by numerous residents in the area who suggested to them they'd welcome another neighbourhood food store to avoid travelling out of town for supplies.
It adds a neighbourhood outlet will allow people the freedom to shop in their local community and invest in locally-sourced products.
If approved, the store would be expected to operate from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
