A new purpose-built primary school in Douglas will 'massively' improve the learning experience for children and teachers.
The Henry Bloom Noble School is replacing Fairfield primary and Ballacloan infant schools - the old Victorian buildings are no longer fit for purpose.
It will open in September - it has flexible and open plan classrooms, specialised facilities such as sensory and therapy rooms and larger play areas.
The school has cost £9.5 million but will be coming in under budget - headteacher Ian Walmsley is excited about what it will mean for his students' education:
Lieutenant Governor to bungee jump for charity
Five sets of roadworks on one estate in six months
Weather postpones council's Easter fun day
Seven ferry crossings hit by water levels and dredging issues in Douglas
