The equivalent of 48 GP appointments per day were wasted on Island from April 2021 to March this year.
That's according to Manx Care, who says the total cost of the 'did not attends' was £472,872.
The health body also acknowledges that some people are struggling to get an appointment with their GP, which is partly due to the 'large number of patients failing to attend their booked appointments.'
There have already been over 7,300 appointments missed between April and September 2022.
Patients are being encouraged to consider the impact of not turning up to their GP surgery when scheduled to, and are reminded that cancellations can be made via Patient Access or email.
