Former Manx resident Rick Wakeman has described how he first met Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender in an Island hotel.
The musician gave a reading at Lavender’s funeral in Suffolk this week after the actor died last month.
Wakeman says he met Lavender – who played Private Pike - in a bar on the Isle of Man in 1988.
He’s now revealed after the two got chatting, they became and remained best friends afterwards.
