As concerns mount in the UK that it could lose neighbourhood policing, chief constable Gary Roberts says the same risk remains here.
The Island was first to trial neighbourhood policing, establishing a successful model that has brought about significant crime reduction figures over the last decade.
It comes at a cost however and in light of cut backs may no longer continue to be sustainable.
