Some people who are on benefits are abusing the system with many treating government like a cashpoint.
That’s the view of the Social Care Minister who wants to tighten up legislation surrounding the Budgeting Loans Scheme.
The scheme lends people up to £1,000 to help towards deposits for accommodation or if they have lost their benefits money.
However there is evidence that people are making multiple claims with over £460,000 now owed to the department.
