Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher has resigned from her role in the Department of Health and Social Care.
Faragher is thought to have quit just minutes after Health Minister Lawrie Hooper handed in his resignation.
The Department has faced backlash in recent weeks for cuts to elective surgeries due to overspending.
Hooper says his resignation is because of a disagreement with Chief Minister Alf Cannan about the future of Manx Care.
