The issue of farmed puppies making their way to the Isle of Man will be raised in the House of Keys today.
A campaign was recently launched on the Island to raise awareness of the various issues surrounding farmed puppies, with a focus on the poor conditions the animals are kept in and the health implications the dog can face.
Douglas North MHK Bill Henderson will be asking what animal welfare issues arise and whether government will introduce legislation to restrict puppy importation.
He says greater awareness of this serious matter is needed:
