Six staff from the Manx Electricity Authority are travelling to Scotland today after major storms yesterday.
They are responding to a request for help from power distributors in the country.
The staff, and three MEA vehicles, will help to reconnect supplies to around 20,000 homes in the region which are without power.
The request is part of a nationwide agreement between all distributors for help in such circumstances.
