Manx Utilities 'progressing' with water mains works

Manx Utilities says its 'progressing' with a £3.4m project to replace water mains in the south of the Island.

Work on the 10km pipe between St Marks and Grenaby will start on Tuesday, April 19 and take about six months to complete.

Ballakew, St Marks to Ballaglonne and Grenaby will be some of the areas affected.

The board says it's one of the longest water main installations in over 20 years, and will ultimately supply water to thousands of properties in the South.

The project is set to be completed in early October 2022, but the authority has warned some roads may need to be shut during the project.
