Manx teen urging people to #GetYourStripes

Archie Veale and his dad Lewis

A teenager from the Isle of Man has donned his pyjamas in a bid to raise money to fund life changing medical research.

18-year-old Archie Veale has joined a number of famous faces for a Christmas campaign which is in aid of Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

Matalan is selling striped nightwear as part of its #GetYourStripes initiative - 100 per cent of the profits go towards funding the research, innovation and education centre at the medical facility.

In March 2014 Archie was flown to Alder Hey with an infection which caused severe sepsis - he spent 47 days in intensive care and four months in hospital in total.

When he arrived at the hospital his parents agreed for medical staff to involve their son in research - his dad Lewis, who also appears in the campaign, says they saw how the vital research helped 'bring their son to life'.
