Manx stamps crashed on moon because of instrument problems, says company

Problems with precision instruments and recognising craters led to a lunar lander carrying digitised Manx stamps crashing on the moon, according to the company behind the mission.

Intuitive Machines has issued a report into the failure of the Athena lander, which toppled onto its side as it touched down on the lunar surface in March.

The mission was carrying Manx stamps as part of a test of a moon-based datacentre

Digital Isle of Man had helped arrange the test with US-based company Lonestar, run by Manxman Chris Stott.
