Manx Energy Doctor Can Help Cut Hundreds Off Winter Fuel Bills

With the news that gas price are set to increase from next month the Islands Energy Doctor can offer advice on how to lower your bills.

Gary Stevens has visited hundreds of homes across the Isle of Man and has helped cut an estimate of hundreds of thousands of pounds off bills.

As the winter approaches he told Three FM there is plenty of way to conserve energy and cut household bills and not be hit so hard financially.

Gary said: 'I’ll be making home visits to assess what energy-saving measures could be introduced to help reduce householders’ fuel bills and increase comfort in the home.'

He will also be able to issue householders free packs containing simple but effective energy-saving devices, including four energy-efficient light bulbs and four reflective radiator panels per household, along with draught excluders and door and letter box brushes where required.

He continued: 'A typical visit lasts about two hours during which I can offer advice on the range of government grants available to help towards the cost of installing energy-saving measures such as double glazing and cavity wall and loft insulation, and I can also fill in the application forms on behalf of the householder if required.'

If you would like to request a visit you can contact the Energy Doctor by telephoning Age Concern on 613044, or by emailing energydoctor@ageconcerniom.com.
