A Castletown man’s been banned from driving after crashing his car while more than two and a half times the limit.
Patrick Henry Smith of Callow’s Yard appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 59 year old admitted drink driving on February 3 this year in Castletown.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing a member of the public reported Smith after seeing his silver Audi crash into a parked car before driving off.
Officers found the damaged vehicle in a car park outside Castletown Police Station, and Smith was found in the Callow’s Yard courtyard nearby.
Magistrates ordered him to do 120 hours of community service as well as spend two years on probation.
They also disqualified him from driving for three years and ordered him to pay £125 costs.
