A man's told a court he drove a car with no licence or insurance over fears his former partner would endanger it.
Nicholas Edge of Barrule Drive in Onchan appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 34-year-old admitted having no licence or insurance in Nursery Avenue in Onchan on September 13 last year.
His advocate told the court Edge's ex-partner threatened to damage the car so he drove it away.
Edge was fined a total of £520 and ordered to pay £50 costs as well as having four points put on his licence.
