A man who tried to take out more than £17,000 in loans used fake names and forged documents to try to fool a finance firm.
Daniel Matthew Weir of Murrays Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 43 year old admitted six counts of fraud by false representation and one of making articles for use in frauds.
Prosecutor Chrissie Hunt told the hearing between December 2019 and March 2021, Weir used fake names, dates of birth and employment details in loan applications.
He also forged a driving licence and utility bills to back up the claims, and received £1,500 before staff noticed similarities between the applications and called police.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 and he’ll appear again for sentencing on July 28.
