A court’s heard a Peel man accused of possessing indecent images of children went to a pub carrying a bike chain, knife and hammer.
Joshua James Tweedy of Market Street appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He hasn’t yet entered pleas to seven charges of possessing the images on April 29 and one count each of carrying a knife in public and using provoking behaviour on July 7.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said Mr Tweedy had drunk 10 pints of lager, cans of cider and Jack Daniels before going to the Marine Hotel and showing the chain to staff.
The court heard it was taken from him and he left – but a short time later returned carrying a large blade and the hammer before being disarmed by bar workers.
Magistrates remanded the 24 year old in custody and he’ll appear again on July 23.
