New Lieutenant Governor, First Deemster and Attorney General Unveiled Today
THE next Lieutenant Governor has been appointed today.
Adam Wood will take over when Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks steps down next April.
Mr Wood worked in the British Diplomatic Service in the post of Africa Director where he advised the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary.
Oxford educated Mr Wood has worked all over the World throughout his career.
HIS Honour Deemster David Doyle has been appointed as First Deemster and Clerk of the Rolls, succeeding the late Deemster Michael Kerruish QC.
Deemster Doyle, who has been Second Deemster since March 2003, was called to the English Bar in 1982 and to the Manx Bar in 1984.
From 1984 to 2003 he was a Manx Advocate in private practice, and in 2002 and 2003 he served on a part-time basis as a Deputy High Bailiff and Coroner of Inquests.
The position of Attorney General has been awarded to Advocate Stephen Harding, he will succeed John Corlett QC as the Island’s Attorney General when Mr Corlett retires in April next year.
