Onchan commissioners say they'll spend £15,000 from the local authority's reserves to repair bumper boats in the town's pleasure park.
A board meeting heard the boats were developing problems with engine mounts which meant the vessels needed either repairing or replacing.
Members heard replacing the boats would cost £60,000 based on their current design - and they might not arrive in time to be used this year.
They voted to spend the cash on repairs to be undertaken this year, and in a separate motion agreed to spend another £15,000 replacing fencing around the pool.
