If Charitable Donations Stop
There islands hyperbaric chamber could be in danger of closing.
The increasing costs are hard to keep up with. It needs £30,000 more each year than it has.
The facility is a life saver for many people.
Divers breathing disorders are treated there as well as other injuries and illnesses.
If patients have to be transferred to the UK for treatment it’s feared that deaths are inevitable as time cannot be wasted.
David Downie is from the chamber, and he told 3fm (listen to audio above) that just last week a diver could have died if it wasn’t for the islands hyperbaric chamber.
Workers at the chamber said that it could be closed if charitable donations stop.
