Manx cyclist Jonny Bellis returned to racing yesterday 9 months after cheating death in a motor scooter accident.
The 21 year old competed in the Isle of Man road race championships.
He only left hospital in February after the incident which left him in a coma. The brave Douglas cyclists was in 4 different hospitals over a 6 month period before moving back home to finish his rehabilitation.
Although he is back on the Island at the moment, Jonny is based in Italy, where the accident that almost cost him his life happened. He was in a medically induced coma for a month but made a miraculous speedy recovery.
Bellis said he's thrilled to be back on the road and never thought he would be at this stage so quickly. (audio above)
He also sent a thanks to the Manx public for their support.
