A Douglas man has been jailed after elbowing a police officer who was trying to search him.
29-year-old Stuart James Corkill, of Laburnum Avenue, lashed out at the female PC on February 27th.
Corkill denied assaulting the officer, and obstructing the drugs search, but was convicted after trial.
At Douglas Courthouse yesterday he was sentenced to 28 weeks in custody.
The court heard extra officers had to be called to the scene as back up - they were forced to use PAVA spray to restrain him.
Corkill's advocate told the court there was clearly work to be done on his 'anti-authoritarian attitudes'.
Sending Corkill to prison Deputy High Bailiff told him: "You might bare in mind that your difficulties with the police are borne out of your behaviour not theirs."
