Inspirational Island residents sought to carry the Olympic Torch next June
The hunt is on for inspirational Island residents to act as Torchbearers when the Olympic Torch visits the Island next June.
The 2012 Olympic organisers are appealing for 8,000 people in total to carry the Olympic torch on its 8,000-mile journey around the UK and British Isles.
The torch will be on the Island on June 2nd 2012, at a time where thousands of visitors will be here for the TT.
In total 40 people will be needed to carry it around the Island.
Anybody over the age of 12 can apply.
Minister Cretney is inviting nominations that will showcase the talent and bravery Island residents can demonstrate.
