Health Minister Corrects Mistake in Emploment Costs Tynwald Question
Minister for Health David Anderson has issued a statement amending an answer he gave during the July sitting of Tynwald in regards to the employment costs incurred by his Department over the past 3 years.
MHK Peter Karran originally put a question to Minister Anderson in Tynwald asking for the costs of employing agency staff from 2007 upto the present.
The error related to the financial year 2007 to 2008.
It was originally reported that it cost the Department just shy of £2,500,000 – this figure however should have read £4,139,735.
The error was flagged up following confusion as to why that years figures were so low in comparison to the previous 2 years.
Minister Anderson has apologised for the error citing differences in the accounting system coding between the old and new system.
