Island headteachers could go on strike at the end of next month.
Members of the National Head Teachers Union (NAHT) held a meeting last night and the union is writing to the Chief Minister today with renewed calls to intervene in the situation.
NAHT National Secretary, Rob Kelsall, says if no resolution can be found then an escalation of industrial action 'is on the cards' which would result in half-day closures at all Manx schools on Tuesday, March 31.
The NAHT is one of three unions currently locked in a long-running dispute with the Department of Education, Sport & Culture over pay and conditions.
