Latest Letter Addresses Any Accomodation or Safety Concerns Competitors May Have
A further letter of reassurance has been sent out to the Manx athletes due to depart for Delhi tomorrow.
The letter sent yesterday begins by expressing the dissapointment that Peter Kennaugh has opted out of the games due to health and safety concerns, but the team says they respect his decision.
It urges any other competitors who may be feeling the same way to wait a day before reaching their decision.
According to the team official currently in Delhi a major effort is underway to get everything finished in time, with India under immense pressure from all the competing nations.
On top of everything else there have also been major holes in Games’ security flagged up following a string operation by an Australian journalist, who took a suitcase full of bomb making equipment into a venue without being challenged by security.
The letter allays any fears that the team may have however by reminding them that whilst in Delhi they will be under the constant protection of their own security team provided by the Metropolitan Police.
3FM have been sent some photographs of the Team Isle of Man's rooms in Athletes Village in Delhi. Here are the bathrooms and kitchens.
