Someone tried to hack into emails at Bride commissioners following a row over waste disposal.
At a meeting last week, the local authority revealed someone had tried to access its emails after it said it would pull out of the Northern Civic Amenity Site.
The board reported the attempted hack to police, Manx Telecom and the Information Commissioner.
In its minutes, the organisation says someone tried to gain information after a meeting when waste disposal was discussed.
