A Kirk Michael man who caused a crash after losing control of his car on a bend will be sentenced in May.
47-year-old Shaun Richard Whear, of Kerro Cruin, hit the oncoming vehicle at the 11th Milestone on October 9th last year.
At Douglas Courthouse last week he admitted causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and consideration.
The court was told Whear's car travelled into the opposite carriageway before crashing into the other vehicle which had mounted the pavement in an effort to avoid the collision.
Both men were admitted to hospital after being injured - the male motorist suffered a cracked sternum, punctured lung and broken ribs; Whear suffered a cracked sternum.
He told police afterwards he'd hit diesel on the road - the court was told no evidence of any substance was found which would have contributed to the crash.
Social enquiry reports have been requested before Whear is sentenced on May 2nd - he's been bailed until that date.
