Groudle Road in Onchan will be closed from today for up to six weeks while the gas infrastructure is upgraded.
Isle of Man Energy says the closure will be in place between Fairway Close and Harbour Road.
Residents and public transport will be able to use The Fairway for access, but there may be minor delays whilst work takes place.
The company says it will work as quickly as possible to finish the essential works.
